Teacher/Director - Katrina Selawsky

Katrina receives Milton Early Childhood Alliance 2009 Professional Recognition Award

  • M. Ed. Curriculum Development and Education, Boston University, Boston, MA

  • Qualified as Lead Teacher, Preschool, Director II by Massachusetts EEC

  • 30 years experience in preschool teaching and administration

  • Bachelor of Music, New England Conservatory, Boston, MA

  • Certificate, Kodaly Institute of America

In addition to teaching in the afternoon program, the Director is responsible for all aspects of the school’s operations. She enrolls children, meets with parents, keeps records, hires and supervises staff, assists with and oversees curriculum development, offers staff training, organizes parent discussions, writes the newsletter, and generally assures the smooth operation of the school when anything else comes up. The Director spends time in each classroom on a regular basis, so that knowledge of the children’s school experience each year is first hand.


Teacher/Assistant Director - Elaine Beguerie

  • Qualified as Lead Teacher, Preschool, Director I by Massachusetts EEC

  • More than 30 years experience in preschool teaching and administration

Teachers are responsible for curriculum development, planning, and the supervision of children in their classrooms. They develop individualized instructional methods, create and maintain the classroom environment, and communicate with parents. In addition to time spent in the classrooms with the children, each teacher spends long hours in team meetings developing curricula and maintaining records on each child’s growth and development in school. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, the Assistant Director helps the Director in overseeing the daily operations of the program as required, and serves as a resource and mentor to other teachers.


Teacher –  Barbara Lapal

  • B.S. Elementary Education, Framingham State College, Framingham, MA

  • Qualified as Lead Teacher, Preschool Massachusetts EEC

  • Certification in Elementary Education, Massachusetts

  • More than 15 years experience in public and private kindergarten and preschool teaching
     

Teacher –  Gerry Horvet

  • Provider of Family Child Care Services, Massachusetts

  • More than 30 years experience in center based preschool programs and family day care
     

Teacher –  Stacey Festa

  • Qualified as Lead Teacher, Preschool, Director I by Massachusetts EEC

  • More than 12 years experience in preschool teaching and administration
